The Special Election to fill the unexpired term of the Retiree Trustee which ends on September 30, 2022 started with the mailing of ballots to all retiree members of the System on September 20, with the window for the return of said ballots closing Friday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. CDT.  All completed ballots were in the custody of the System’s Auditors, Sikich LLP (formerly known as Hochschild, Bloom & Company), and all counting and tabulation of the ballots was performed by Sikich.

A total of 781 ballots were validly completed and returned.

The respective vote totals for the candidates were as follows:

Jim Whyte              117

George Weindel     445

George Weindel is therefore declared the duly elected trustee.  Congratulations to “Trustee” Weindel.
