Since October 1, 1957, The Police Retirement System of St. Louis has been
helping ensure the financial security of its members and their families.
This handbook will help you understand how the System works for you.
As shown in the table of contents, this handbook is divided into two main
parts. The first part provides an overview of the System and the allowances
and benefits it provides. In some cases, references within the overview
direct you to more detailed information in the second part of the handbook.
The second part contains the statutes that define and govern the System
as of July 11, 2002.
Please keep in mind that if any difference exists between the overview
and the statutes, the statutes will govern in all cases. If you have any
questions about information in this handbook, please contact The Police
Retirement System office at 241-0800.
